What's New

Copper!

I took a jewelry course this winter with Antje Roitzsch.  I learned some fold forming and hammering techniques that I love.  Here is a fun necklace at left.  I'm working on Brooches for my shawls.  I hope to have some at my summer shows!

I've been making some outfits that combine hand weaving, paper etchings and hammered copper.

Headdresses are a major theme!

Radio Interview

Last year, I was interviewed on local Rockland Radio station WRFR to talk about both weaving and my visual artwork.  The interview is about an hour long and includes some of my favorite music. Full Interview

I'm setting up my loom for a series of triangular shawls. Large rectangles (60" x 120") will be cut into 3 shawls.  The designs are bold but the yarn and color combinations will add a unique subtlety to the cloth.

Weaving with Paper Etchings

I've been experimenting with combining etchings and weavings.  To the left, pieces of rejected etchings are interlaced with silk.  In the middle, etching pieces are cut into fine strips and woven into the cloth on the loom.  To the right, an etching is cut and sewn and also inserted into the hand picked lace on the cloth.
